Template:Infobox Gundam Character Stellar Loussier (ステラ・ルーシェ Sutera Ruushie) is a fictional character in the anime series Gundam SEED Destiny. She is voiced by Kuwashima Houko in the original Japanese version and Lalainia Lindbjerg in the English dub.

Identity

Stellar is one of the three Extended (drug enhanced) pilots from the Phantom Pain under the command of Neo Lorrnoke. Together with her comrades Sting Oakley and Auel Neider she infiltrates the PLANT colony Armory One and, with the help of some ZAFT-soldiers, they steal three new Gundam-type mobile suits. Stellar becomes the pilot of the ZGMF-X88S Gaia. Stellar and her comrades heavily damage the base inside the colony and fight against Shinn Asuka, who is piloting the ZGMF-X56S Impulse. During the battle, it becomes clear that when someone mentions the word “die,” Stellar goes into a state of shock. Stellar, Sting, and Auel manage to escape from the base on the Mirage Colloid-equipped ship Girty Lue, but are pursued by the ZAFT-battleship Minerva. After the “Break the World” incident, Stellar and Phantom Pain are stationed on Earth on the EA carrier John Paul Jones and Stellar is later engaged in another battle with Shinn.

Place in the story

During her stay on Earth, Stellar meets Shinn face to face when he saves her from drowning after she falls from a cliff, but neither of them knows who the other is. During this time, Shinn swears to protect her, but when she returns to the Phantom Pain, her memories of him are erased. When the Minerva is attacked by the joined forces of the Earth Alliance and the Orb Union Stellar again fights against ZAFT, she inadvertently kills the new pilot of the Minerva, Heine Westenfluss, whose unit was disabled by Kira Yamato. While the Minerva investigates the Extended facility in Lodonia – the place where the Extendeds are created and trained – Stellar attacks the Minerva, but is defeated by Shinn and Athrun Zala and becomes a prisoner on the Minerva. Because of the chemical changes to her Extended body, her condition becomes worse, and to save her life Shinn violates orders and brings her back to the EA. File:Stellar001.jpg

Death

After the EA stabilizes her condition, she is quickly assigned to be the pilot of the gigantic mobile suit GFAS-X1 Destroy. With her new suit she destroys a large swath of West-Eurasia until she reaches Berlin. There she is engaged in a fight with Kira Yamato in the ZGMF-X10A Freedom. Shinn also joins the fight, without knowing Destroy's pilot. When Neo tells Shinn that Stellar is the pilot, he tries to calm her with his words and is partially successful. However, when Stellar sees Freedom she attacks again and Kira attacks the cannons above the cockpit of the Destroy, which causes explosions that mortally injure Stellar. Shinn rescues her from of the cockpit, and she dies in his arms. Shinn then brings her dead body and sinks it in a nearby lake, swearing to avenge her death at the hands of Kira Yamato.

Reappearing to Shinn

Stellar reappears to Shinn as a ghost (or, possibly, a hallucination) in the final episode of the series after Shinn is knocked unconscious in his last fight with Athrun Zala, telling him that she'll see him "tomorrow." Stellar vanishes as Shinn wakes up.

Trivia

  • Of the three Phantom Pain Extendeds shown in Destiny, Stellar appears to be the most innocent. She is very childlike despite her capacity for killing.
  • Her theme song is 'Shinkai no Kodoku' by Yuki Kajiura
  • Stellar is often called the "Four Murasame" of Destiny (see Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam for more details)
  • She's the third adult/teen character Houko Kuwashima voices in the Cosmic Era (after Flay Allster and Natarle Badgiruel); like the previous two, Stellar was killed in the end.
  • Before Destiny came out, most anime news sites have said Kelly Sheridan would portray Stellar in the English dub, which would have made perfect sense seeing as how Kelly also portrays Sango another one of Houko Kuwashima's characters in the English dub of Inuyasha. The mistake was noted when Lindbjerg's name was credited, though it has yet to be corrected.
  • All her encounters with Shinn except the last one involved her hitting him in some way. However, Shinn still loves her.
  • Despite her memory being erased twice (once after her meeting with Shinn when he saved her from drowning, and once when she was given back to OMNI because of her ailing health by Shinn), she is still able to remember that Shinn had promised to protect her, which he failed to do.
  • Her trigger word is anything that relates to HER death (e.g: die, death, kill, killed, etc). It also seems the word "protect" calms her down.
