The Amnesty International Philippines (AIPh) is a human rights organization in the Philippines, Manila. It's an independent organization with the famous parent organization Amnesty International (AI). Main tasks: Networking, strengthened the local human rights movement and lobby work (Passage of an Anti-Torture, Ratification of the OPCAT, Passage of the RH Law, Enactment of a domestic International Humanitarian Law (IHL), Work onJuvenile Justice, Repeal of the Death Penalty Law, Passage of the Anti-VAWC Law). AIPh was founded on June 1991 in Manila, Philippines and exist in the country since the 1980s during the time of Martial law in the Philippines on Ferdinand Marcos. It was initiated by Atty. Sammy Matunog, former national coordinator of Protestant Lawyers League (PLLP).
