Annie Hardy
Annie-Summer Hardy (b. June 5th, 1981) is the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter in the indie-rock duo Giant Drag. She hails from San Clemente, California.
She is known for her explicit song titles such as "YFLMD [You Fuck Like My Dad]" and "My Dick Sux" even though the lyrical content of the actual songs isn't as blatantly explicit.
She cultivates a quick-witted stage persona, sometimes retorting to insults with humor because she feels "As long as I get the last laugh, I'm fine." Hardy got her first guitar in the sixth grade, but attempts at getting lessons failed, largely because she angered her teacher by calling herself God. She ended up learning guitar with a friend when they were in the tenth grade. Her influences include The Beach Boys, Nirvana, and Pixies. Hardy was voted 50th in NME (New Musical Express) Magazine's list of the 50 coolest people of 2005.
She provided guest vocals in the song "Pink Cellphone" from the 2006 Deftones album Saturday Night Wrist, which has two versions; One cropped and the other unedited due to the controversial and offensive themes the song exposes towards the end with a spontaneous monologue involving masturbation, fellatio and anal sex.
