Anopterus glandulosus[1] |
Anopterus glandulosus, commonly known as native laurel or Tasmanian laurel, is a species of shrub or small tree in the family Escalloniaceae, endemic to the rainforests of western and southern Tasmania.[2][3]
Jacques Labillardière described the species in 1805. It is one of two species that belong to the genus Anopterus.
It usually occurs as a shrub 2–4 m high but may occasionally form a tree up to 10 m high.[2] The leaves are large, 7–17 cm long and 2–4 cm wide.[2] The white to light pink flowers are about 2 cm across and occur during spring and often again in autumn.[2]
