An annual general meeting is a meeting that official bodies, and associations involving the public (including companies with shareholders), are often required by law to hold.

To carefully observe and check that the company are making the right moves and actions that will benefit the company.

7.5 Discuss the role of shareholders at AGMs
The role for the individual shareholder is how to know what message is appropriate and how to get it across.

7.6 Are private companies required to hold AGMs? Why/why not?
The 2006 Companies Act no longer requires a private company to hold an AGM unless its articles expressly provide that an AGM must be held.

7.7 Describe an extraordinary meeting. Under what circumstances would this type of meeting be held?
Extraordinary meetings are informal meetings which are called when there are matters of significance.
