On April 2, 2021, a car rammed the north barricade outside the United States Capitol, along Constitution Avenue,[1] killing a Capitol Police officer and injuring another.[2] In response the Capitol complex was in lockdown.[3] The man suspect exited the car while wielding a knife,[4] he was shot by the security and later died.[5]

A police officer was wounded after being hit by the vehicle outside Capitol Hill. A Another police officer died after injuries sustained during the ramming. The suspect was shot dead after trying to attack other officers with a knife.
