April McMahon

April Mary Scott McMahon, FRSE, FBA, FLSW (born 30 April 1964) is a British linguist and academic administrator. Since 2016, she has been Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the University of Kent. She was previously Forbes Professor of English Language at the University of Edinburgh from 2005 to 2011, and Vice-Chancellor of Aberystwyth University from 2011 to 2016.

Honours

In 2003, McMahon was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE). In 2005, she was elected a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA), the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities and social sciences. In 2012, she was elected a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales (FLSW).
