Arjit Taneja (born 10 November 1992) is an Indian television actor and model. He made his acting debut with channel V's popular show The Serial. He was also part of Mtv Splitsvilla 6. He acted in a cameo role in Bade Acche Lagte Hain. He was one of the members of the parallel lead role in Zee TV's most popular and top rating show Kumkum Bhagya as Purab Khanna. He also plays the role of Bilal in Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do [2] Currently, he is in Kaleerein as Vivaan Kapoor.[3]
Early life
Arjit Taneja grew up in Delhi. He was brought up in a family of lawyers and he has an elder sister called Tanvi. His family is Punjabi.[4] He attended modern school, Delhi and was graduated with a BA degree in computer programming at University of Delhi.[5]
In November 2010, joined the modelling agency Elite Model Management India Pvt. Ltd. In mid-2012, he moved from Delhi to Mumbai and made his debut on television.[6]
Career
Taneja played a cameo in the series Bade Acche Lagte Hain on Sony Entertainment Television India in September 2013. In December 2012, he got a role in V The Serial on Channel V, where he played actor Karan Kundra's best friend. He also participated in the reality show MTV Splitsvilla, in Season 6.
Since April 2014, Taneja is playing the role of Purab Khanna, parallel lead and one of the protagonists in the TV show Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV.[7] Purab Khanna’s love interest in the serial is Bulbul (Mrunal Thakur).[8] He also played the role of Bilal Khan in Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do.
After playing Ishan in Nadin, Taneja bagged the lead role of Zee Tv’s Kaleerein and he is currently playing as an arrogant business tycoon, Vivaan Kapoor. In May 2018, he appeared in Zee TV's talk show Juzz Baatt[9] as a guest along with Sana Saeed, Adnan Khan and Karan Jotwani.
