Genesis and development
The OG-43, designed by Giovanni Oliani the factory in Cremona of Società Anonima Revelli Manifattura Armiguerra, was an advanced automatic assault weapon, short range, inspired by the maximum economic production and maximum concealment. It is part of a family of weapons produced in emergency situation in the Italian Social Republic, formed by the TZ-45 machine guns,FNAB-43 and Isotta Fraschini. The next version, the OG-44 instead had a more traditional shape. The Ministry of War of the RSI War had approved the construction, but was never initiated as events precipitated.
Description
OG-43 have a very modern line respect contemporary models. Made of pressed steel, charger and magazine also served as a handle. The Bolt in the shape of L flowed, with the recoil spring, in a cylinder above the barrel; This decreased the tipping of the barrel during bursts. The cocking handle flowed above the receiver along the spring-holder cylinder. The stock crutch coul be folded inferiorly and forwardly. In front of the trigger guard, underneath the barrel cover hole, it was placed in forwardly reclining wooden handle. The weapon adopted the same magazines two-wire 10, 20, 30 and 40 shots of the Beretta MAB 38. The functioning was short recoil blowback and shooted with bolt open in semi-automatic and automatic mode. The sights were fixed, with for 100 and 200 meters.
OG-44
The OG-44 version had a more traditional line. It adopts the traditional wooden Stock hinged to the pistol grip, positioned behind the trigger and the magazine holder. The weight was slightly higher than that OG-43, as well as the total length that goes up to 787 mm.
