Armando Castaingdebat

Background
He is a member of the National Party (Uruguay). (This Party is traditionally strong in the interior of Uruguay, and especially in Flores Department).
Castaingdebat was formerly known as a close political associate of Walter Echeverría, who died suddenly in 2005.[1]
Political rôle
Castaingdebat is Intendent (Spanish: 'Intendente') of the Flores Department of Uruguay. By a large margin, this is the most sparsely populated of the country's 19 departments.[2]
A significant factor in the political work of Castaingdebat is the sizeable agricultural interests which are present in the economic and labour-related life of Flores Department.
