Ashkan (Template:Lang-fa, also Romanized as Ashkān)[1] is a common first name, mostly in Iran and Germany. It has roots in the ancient Persian male name Ashk commonly used in Parthian Empire (Ashkanian) in ancient Iran. The name translates to "Parthian King".

Ashkan is also the name of a village in Gowharan Rural District, Gowharan District, Bashagard County, Hormozgan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 223, in 45 families.[2]
