The Association of Optometrists is an organisation of Optometrists in the United Kingdom.

It is a Company Limited by Guarantee with about 16,000 members, and operates in some ways similar to a Trade Union. Many of its members are self employed. It is one of the five representative bodies that make up the Optical Confederation.

It provides medical malpractice insurance for optometrists and organises an annual conference focussed on therapeutics for independent prescribing optometrists.[1]

Kevin Thompson, owner of the north east group Thompson Opticians, is chairman of the Association.[2]
