Atlantis Airlines is a defunct airline based in Dakar, Senegal in Africa.[3]
Atlantis Airlines was also a commuter air carrier operating turboprop aircraft in the U.S. during the 1980s providing service as Eastern Express on behalf of Eastern Air Lines.[4] The airline flew British Aerospace BAe Jetstream 31, de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter and Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner turboprops as well as Piper Navajo prop aircraft in scheduled passenger operations in the southeast U.S.[5]
In addition, Atlantis was the name used by a German airline operating Douglas DC-8 and DC-9 jetliners during the early 1970s.[6]
Another jet airline which used "Atlantis" in its name was Air Atlantis, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of TAP Portugal.
