August Wiktor Witkowski (Template:Lang-de; 1854 in Brody, Austrian Galicia – 1913 in Krakow) was a Polish physicist, rector of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow (in 1910).
Member of the Academy of Learning. He is credited with founding the first modern physics department in Poland.
One of the buildings of the Jagiellonian University, the Collegium Witkowskiego, is named after him. In 1920 and 1921 he was made a patron of two high schools in Poland: August Witkowski V High School in Krakow and August Witkowski Geodetic school in Jaroslaw
His research was into experimental physics, in particular, electrical conduction in gases and electromagnetic radiation.
He is buried at the Rakowicki Cemetery.
