Australia competed unofficially at the 1976 Winter Paralympics in Örnsköldsvik.

The Australian Paralympic Committee indicates that "Australia was unofficially represented at these Games by Ron Finneran, who competed but is not officially recognised as he does not fall into the amputee or visual impairment categories".[1] Finneran "travelled to Sweden at his own cost to represent Australia as [a] one-man team in the[se] inaugural" Games.[2][3][4][5][4][6]
