Az Zintan (Az or Ez or Al Zintan or Zintan or Zentan , most commonly Az Zintan), (Arabic: الزنتان, transliteration: Az Zintan), (sometimes called tagrmeen , تاغرمين ), is a city in northwestern Libya, situated roughly 160 km south-west of Tripoli in Al Jabal al Gharbi District.

The people of Az Zintan joined in the 2011 Libyan uprising. Attempts by pro-Gaddafi forces to retake the town have been unsuccessful.[1][2]
