The Bald Mountain mine is one of the largest gold mines in the United States. It is an open-pit, run-of-mine, heap leach gold mine with conventional heap leaching technology and carbon absorption for ore treatment. The mine is located in the western part of the United States in White Pine County, Nevada, 110 kilometers southeast of Elko. Proven and probable mineral reserves as at December 31, 2013, were 2,500,000 ounces (71 t) of gold.[1]
