Barany [baˈranɨ] (German: Barannen (1938-45:Keipern)) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ełk, within Ełk County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) south of Ełk and 122 km (76 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.

Before 1945 the area was part of Germany (East Prussia).
