Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe, also known as Hotel Barcelo Bávaro Palace or Bávaro Palace is a luxury hotel and resort in Punta Cana in the municipality of Higüey, in La Altagracia Province on the east coast of the Dominican Republic. Established in 1992 at a reported US $250 million,[1][2] it is one of the biggest complexes in the country.[3]

Features

Three erstwhile Barcelo resorts are combined in this luxury hotel which has an ambience of a "boutique hotel".[2] Set in 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) of beach, it is cited as one of the biggest complexes in the country,[3] it contains 11 (as many as 16 also cited[2]) restaurants, five swimming pools, a shopping centre, a gym and U-Spa Bávaro, an 18-hole golf course, a bar with thatched-roof, and a miniclub. Much of the interior is inspired by Danish design.[2] One of the restaurants is the Chez Palace, with a strong southern Spanish influence in its design, serving international cuisine.[3] As of 2010 it had 472 junior suites (as many as 897 also cited[2]), with outdoor patios and Jacuzzis.[4]
