The Barnard Astronomical Society is an amateur astronomical society based in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Society was formed on November 15, 1923, at a meeting led by University of Chattanooga Professor Burleigh S. Annis at the Chattanooga YMCA. The society's name came from the recently deceased, distinguished Tennessee astronomer Edward Emerson Barnard.[1]

Public Outreach

The Society has public meetings at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of each month and conducts star parties throughout the year.
