Basoeki Abdullah Museum is an art museum located in South Jakarta, Indonesia. It contains paintings and the personal collection of Basoeki Abdullah, including statues, masks, puppets, and weapons.[1] The museum is managed by the Ministry of Education and Culture.[2] Besides being used for exhibitions, the museum also used to hold workshops.[3]

History

Basoeki Abdullah Museum was established on 25 September 2001 and inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Tourism I Gede Ardika.[2][1] The museum was founded on the will Basoeki Abdullah, who died on 5 November 1993.[2] Basoeki Abdullah gave a message that his paintings and personal collection with his house granted to the Government of The Republic of Indonesia.[2] In 1998 the house at Keuangan Raya street in South Jakarta handed the Indonesian government through the Directorate General of Culture.[2][1] Then, that building was renovated in order to be used as a museum.[2][1]
