Beverly Farms is a regional rail station on the MBTA Commuter Rail Newburyport/Rockport Line, located at the intersection of Oak Street and West Street (MA-127) in Beverly, Massachusetts. The station building, built in 1898, is still present but no longer used for railroad purposes. The station has two side platforms serving the line's two tracks, each with a mini-high section to make the station handicapped accessible.

History

Beverly Farms station in 2014

The Eastern Railroad originally only stopped at West Beach to the east when the Gloucester Branch opened in 1847; not until around 1852 did a station open at the modern Beverly Farms site.[2] In 1898, the Boston and Maine Railroad built the current hip-roofed depot.[2] The railroad agency at Beverly Farms closed in 1952 and the freight house was demolished the year after. The station building was closed in 1958; it now houses a real estate agency.[2]
