The Bicaz River (Békás-patak in Hungarian) is a right tributary of the river Bistrița in Romania. It starts at confluence of headwaters Veleșchia and Hăghimaș in the Lacul Roșu (Lacul Rosu). It discharges into the Bistrița in Bicaz. The Romanian name derives from the Hungarian name, which means literally frog-rivulet (hun.: béka = frog)[citation needed].

The main tributaries of the river are:

  • Left bank tributaries: Veleșchia (or Pârâul Roșu, or Vereșcheu), Suhard, Cupaș, Lapoș, Șugău, Țepeșeni, Jidanul (or Capra), Chișirig, Pârâul Izvorului, Neagra, Tașca, Hamzoaia
  • Right bank tributaries: Hăghimaș (or Pârâul Oii), Bicăjel, Bardoș, Surduc, Dămuc, Ticoș, Floarea, Secu
