Brian G. Coogan is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives who represented District 83 followed by District 64 (after redistricting) until January 2005.

He most recently sought election once again for District 64, the seat being vacated by Helio Melo.[1] He was defeated by East Providence City Councillor Helder J. Cunha in the September 13, 2016 Democratic primary election.

Coogan was arrested in late October 2016 for stealing the signs of the opponent of Anna Sousa, his live-in girlfriend, who was running for the East Providence City Council.[2]
