Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival was founded by Chris Scioli and by award-winning author and filmmaker Gregory Lamberson.[1][2] The festival is a ten-day celebration[3] which showcase various films from around the world.[4][5]

The mission of the festival is to screen, "bold, original and edgy films that are well made"[6] and to help year-round with providing a platform for Western, NY filmmakers to screen their work.[7] In addition to a full feature schedule, the festival is known for its shorts blocks.[8]

Notable Guests

The festival often partners with Lloyd Kaufman[9] and Troma to show early screenings of Troma films.[10]

Screenwriter and film producer Roy Frumkes judged the unproduced original screenplay competition for the 2016 season.[11]

Awards

The festival gives out awards in a number of categories including special Dreamer Awards, Filmmaker of the Year Awards, Living Legend Awards, and the Lois Weber Award, designed to recognize the achievements of contemporary female filmmakers.[12]
