Buller District, administered by the Buller District Council is an administrative region in the West Coast region of New Zealand. It covers Westport, Karamea, Reefton and Inangahua Junction. Its land area is 7,953.12 km² (3,070.72 sq mi). The seat of the council is at Westport, where 45% of the district's population lives.

Population

The district has a population of 9,702 at the 2006 census, of whom 8% are Maori. Of these, 3900 live in Westport, 423 in Karamea, 159 in Inangahua Junction and 948 in Reefton.
