Bulo Marer ([Buulo Mareer] Error: {{Lang-xx}}: text has italic markup (help)), also written as Bulomarer, is a town in the southwestern Lower Shebelle region of Somalia. It includes a base of Al-Shabaab, the Somalia-based cell of the militant Islamist group al-Qaeda.[1]

It was the site of an ill-fated 2013 French military operation during which commandos attempted to free a French hostage held by Al-Shabaab since 2009.
