The burito grunt (Anisotremus interruptus) is a species of grunt native to the tropical waters of the eastern Pacific Ocean area, from central Baja and the Gulf of California to Peru and the Galapagos Islands. It can be found at depths of 3 to 30 m (9.8 to 98.4 ft) (usually not below 12 m (39 ft)) on reefs, hiding in crevices or caves during daylight and coming out at night to feed. This species can reach 51 cm (20 in) in TL, though most do not exceed 30 cm (12 in). The maximum weight recorded for this species is 3.6 kg (7.9 lb). It is important to commercial fisheries.[2]
