Burrell Perry Smith was a politician who served in the Texas House of Representatives for District 1 from late 1849 to late 1851.
Life
Burrell was born October 23, 1823 in Rutherford, Tennessee, USA. He married Sally Henderson on July 12, 1848 in Clarksville, Red River, Texas, USA. Burrell died on August 11, 1859 at the age of 35 of hemorrhage of the lungs. Sally ended up marrying someone else in 1864. The had no children. Sally died in 1902 at the age of 72. There are no currently living direct relatives of the Smiths. [2]

They had 1 child together. Burrell died less than 6 months after their daughter was born.
Politics
Smith decided to run for the 1st district of the Texas House of Representatives during the 3rd legislature and won. He served in the Texas House from 1849-1851. He never returned to politics again.
