The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners baseball team represents California State University, Bakersfield in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college baseball. Cal State Bakersfield competes as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and plays its home games at Hardt Field.

During its inaugural season in 2009, Cal State Bakersfield became the first NCAA Division I first-year program to defeat the defending College World Series champions when the Roadrunners defeated Fresno State 4-3 on April 4.

Winning the last six of seven games in 2015, the Roadrunners captured the WAC championship and selected to play in the Los Angeles Regional of the 2015 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament for the first time in school history. After losing to UCLA 7–2 in the first game, they defeated Ole Miss 2–1 in the second game to stay alive to play again with UCLA in the third game. Coach Kernen has indicated that he would retire after the season.
