Category:Killings in South Carolina
Homicides (the killing of one person by another, as determined by a coroner/medical examiner or juror) that have not resulted in convictions for murder that remain standing (an article belongs in this category if a murder conviction has been overturned on appeal and the suspect has not been retried or no verdict has been reached in a retrial).
These include cases where a suspect has not been identified or charged and may possibly still be alive, cases where a suspect or defendant died before they could be tried or charged (with the exception of suspects identified posthumously through DNA or some similarly highly specific forensic technique), is awaiting or standing trial on the charge, was found not guilty by reason of insanity or self-defense, or was convicted of manslaughter or other lesser charges.
