Wikipedia must have hundreds of articles about Grade I listed buildings. Many of them are obvious, but I don't know of any lists and I am reluctant to make assumptions. The grading of individual buildings can be checked on Images of England, but buildings only show up if that site has a picture of them, and it is still missing pictures for many Grade I listed buildings. The English Heritage Buildings at Risk Register [1] is valuable, as it allows a database search by building listing grade. Of course, it only has the buildings on the register; there are 268 Grade I at risk. Some of these are difficult to describe for adding to wikipedia, eg, "Grotto in the Grounds of Ascot Place, Winkfield", and may not be appropriate for adding to this page. However, I will make a start on the ones which are missing and stand out as obviously suitable for inclusion. Feel free to add some, 268 will take a while to sift through :) DWaterson 19:56, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
After some further research, it appears that English Heritage's Images of England website does have entries where there aren't photos available as long as you register to use the site (which is free), and it is searchable by listing Grade. It appears to contain virtually all entries on the register at the year 2000, but is designed as a 'snapshot' of the time and consequently is not kept up-to-date. The official register is available online, but not to the public at the moment unfortunately: [2]. Otherwise, the National Monuments Register is only viewable by visting Swindon in person or by phone or email enquiry about a specific site. DWaterson 10:55, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
