An explanation in creating this category. There are three associated names to play with. Benwell and Scotswood is both a Newcastle Electoral Ward and a Wikipedia entry so is Elswick, Tyne and Wear. You could argue the category to be these wards. However my reasoning for narrowing to Scotswood is because the linear concept of the Scotswood Road happens to embrace a whole series of cultural ("Gawn alang the Scotswood Road,"), industrial and transportation features. The KEY industry still in 2013 is what is known now as the Tank Factory and originally was the Armstrong works. Sometimes this is also the Elswick Yard/Factory/Works. But it is located on Scotswood Road. Elswick is a recognised ward directly to the east of Scotswood but through that entire district on its southern boundary runs the Scotswood Road. IDEALLY the category should be SCOTSWOOD ROAD. And for those in on this discussion this map shows ths issue and to mind establishes that the modern Tank Factory is in Scotswood whereas the "Newcastle Business Park" also ex Armstrong and adjacent to Scotwood Road is partly in Elswick.
