All spiral galaxies belong

[edit]

The previous instructions on segregating spiral galaxies into SA, SAB, and SB subtype instead of listing them as spiral galaxies seemed counterproductive. Unbarred and barred spiral galaxies are still spiral galaxies and should be treated as such. I therefore rewrote the recommendations on categorization; stating that spiral galaxies should be categorized as both spiral galaxies and barred/unbarred spiral galaxies. If you disagree, please discuss it here.GeorgeJBendo 15:01, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

I disagree, Wikipedia:Categorization#Categorizing pages says that "if a page belongs to a subcategory of C (or a subcategory of a subcategory of C, and so on) then it is not normally placed directly into C." You could argue that it's (kind of) eponymous or non-diffusing, but I don't think it's the case here. However, you may have departed from Wikipedia? so you might not see this.
