We have two top level categories of Category:Yachting and Category:Sailing. Articles relating to sailing/yachting are randomly categorised into one or the other or both. The net result is that there is a poor indexing of sailing/yachting topics. I propose that all Yachting related articles and sub-categories are categorised under category Sailing. Why? As a high level summary, Sailing is a more generic term than Yachting and hence is more of a 'catch all' for everything. We have conflicts, the 2010 America's Cup was sailed in multi-hulls not yachts. The Olympic Finn class is a sailing dinghy but not a yacht etc etc. In summary everything with the word Yachting in the name/title is equally well described if Sailing is substituted for Yachting. Not everything with the name Sailing in the name/title is properly described if Yachting is substituted for Sailing. Comments please!Boatman (talk) 16:36, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
