Cell Communication and Signaling is a peer-reviewed and open access scientific journal that publishes original research, reviews and commentaries with a focus on cellular signaling research. It was established in 2003 and is currently published by the London-based publisher BioMed Central[1] as an independent society journal.

Since April 2008 Cell Communication and Signaling is the official journal of the Signal Transduction Society,[2][3][4] a scientific society based in Germany and founded by Prof. Karlheinz Friedrich (University of Jena),[5] Prof. Ralf Hass (Hannover Medical School)[6] and Prof. Ottmar Janssen (University of Kiel).[4][7]

Stephan M. Feller (Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Oxford)[8] has been the editor-in-chief of Cell Communication and Signaling since April 2008.[4] In June 2012, Cell Communication and Signaling received its first impact factor.[9]
