Geography

Channapattana is located at 12°39′N 77°13′E / 12.65°N 77.22°E / 12.65; 77.22.[1] It has an average elevation of 739 metres (2424 ft).

Total length of roads is 108.20 km. Total water supply is 70.50(LPCD). This means a per capita water supply of 65.50(LPCD). In summer the temperature is 32 °C. In winter it is 19 °C.

Channapatna is located in Bangalore and Mysore highway. Happening place for the foodies and pit stop for night out goers. Hotels like Sahara, Taj, cafe Coffee day, Shero Tea Stall are few of the famous food joints. Nice place to hang out, just 60 km from silicon valley Bangalore and 80 km from cultural city Mysore. It is most populated town in Ramanagara district.

As of 2011 India census, Channapattana City Municipal Council has population of 71,942 of which 36,098 are males while 35,844 are females as per report released by Census India 2011.[2]

Toys city

The city is famous for its wooden toys and lacquerware. Channapattana is also called with name Town of toys ("Gombegala nagara'")). These toys are manufactured in traditional and advanced small scale industries.Bharath art and crafts is one of the trusted toy factory. Maya organic is ngo based factory. Manufacturing and twisting of raw silk, rice, ragi and coconut is a major product of Channapattana taluk.[3]
