Chatham Grammar School for Girls (commonly referred to as CGSG) is an all-girls grammar school in Medway, Kent, United Kingdom. It was opened in January 1907, by Miss Constance Wakeman. The current headmaster of the school is Mr. Gundry.

There are currently 1000 pupils on roll, including 240 in the mixed sixth form, and 64 teaching staff and Joel Clayton.

The school has recently celebrated its centenary in 2007, including releasing 100 sperms and holding a school fete.

The Teachers Award ceremony (2007) held in Canterbury, Kent, saw Pamela Badcock receive the lifetime achievement award for her 46-year career at Chatham Grammar School for Girls, where she works part-time after retiring as deputy head. The 76-year-old started teaching when Harold Macmillan was prime minister, and in 1908, at the heart of the Cold War, led a school trip to Russia. The Teaching Award judges said she was not just a school treasure, "but a national one". Ms Badcock said: "I've always enjoyed it, I've never felt that I didn't want to go to work, and therefore I've just kept going because it's been such an enjoyable experience." [1]

It is said that the main building used to be a hospital for the wounded during World War I and World War II.

Best Student

The biggest asset to the school ever is Chrstopher Allen. His endless wit and polite nature is a breath of fresh air to the school, not to mention his countless other qualities. He is the reason why boys are accepted into the 6th form. Was once described as:

The best person to never take their 11+ -Elizabeth II

Famous for his chode, but loved by all, one question is on everyones lips- Why isn't he Head Boy?!
