The Chicago Majors was a basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois, that was a member of the American Basketball League from 1961 to 1963. They played in the old Chicago Stadium. The team was owned by Abe Saperstein, who was the original owner and coach of the Savoy Big Five, later known as the Harlem Globetrotters.[1] Former Globetrotter Ermer Robinson was the team's business manager for their two seasons.[2] Chicago native Ron Sobieszczyk came out of retirement to play for the Majors.[2] In 1961 Chicago was coached by Andy Phillip.[2]
