Children of the Night is a 1985 American made-for-television drama film directed by Robert Markowitz. The film is a fictionalized biopic of Dr. Lois Lee, following her work among young prostitutes in Hollywood and the organization Children of the Night that she founded as a result. The film, however, fails to accurately describe the true nature of the charity, that began in 1979 as the California Association of Trollops, which was a prostitute support organization. Nor does it encompass the later criticism for two incidents: the sodomy of a 14-year-old girl inside the Children of the Night shelter LA Times article - Actors Admit to Sex With Minor or their attempt to destroy another children's charity through violence and deceit The California Association of Trollops has a Brand New Name or their giving Hugh Hefner the first and only Founder's Hero of the Hearts Award for "rescuing children (teenage girls) from the ravages of prostitution and pornography."
