Chinderah is a town in the Tweed Shire. It is located south of Tweed Heads and next to the seaside township of Kingscliff. An industrial estate, golf course and small shopping precinct are located within the area.

Demographics

In the 2016 Census, Chinderah recorded a population of 1,566 people[1], 47.9% female and 52.1% male. The median age of the Chinderah population was 58 years, 21 years above the national median of 37. 76.1% of people living in Chinderah were born in Australia. The other top responses for country of birth were England 6.5%, New Zealand 4.4%, Scotland 0.9%, Netherlands 0.6%, Germany 0.5%. 92.3% of people spoke only English at home; the next most common languages were 0.3% German, 0.3% Italian, 0.2% Tagalog, 0.2% Dutch, 0.2% Vietnamese.
