Chordeiles is a genus of nighthawks in the Caprimulgidae family. It contains the following species:[1]
- Least nighthawk, Chordeiles pusillus
- Sand-coloured nighthawk, Chordeiles rupestris
- Common nighthawk, Chordeiles minor
- Lesser nighthawk, Chordeiles acutipennis
- Antillean nighthawk, Chordeiles gundlachii
- Nacunda nighthawk, Chordeiles nacunda
The genus name Chordeiles is from Ancient Greek khoreia, a dance with music, and deile, "evening".[2]
