Chris Clarkson is an English professional rugby league footballer for Hull Kingston Rovers of the Super League. Before joining the Rhinos, Chris a former pupil at Temple Moor, played for his local amateur side East Leeds. He has also won representative honours with Yorkshire and England at U17 level.

Career

Leeds Rhinos

Chris Clarkson was a new recruit for the Rhinos in 2006. A year later he became a regular in the Academy side and helped the Junior Academy side clinch the Championship when he was named in the starting line up for the win against St Helens in the Grand Final. He earned his place in the side after he had registered an impressive 9 tries in 21 appearances over the season.

In 2010 Chris made his Super League debut for Leeds in the 10-17 defeat by Hull Kingston Rovers deputising for Ryan Hall. He showed his versatility, playing on the wing before following this up at centre in the following game against Wigan. Clarkson played from the interchange bench for Leeds in the 2011 Challenge Cup final which was lost to Wigan. He had made 112 appearances at the end of 2014

Widnes Vikings

In 2015 Clarkson was sent on loan to Widnes Vikings where he played 25 games scoring 5 tries in their Super League and qualifier campaigns.

Hull KR

On Friday 2nd October 2015, Chris Clarkson signed a three year deal to play for Hull Kingston Rovers, in 2016.[2]
