Christian Cabrol

Christian Emile Cabrol (16 September 1925 – 16 June 2017) was a French cardiac surgeon. He was known for performing Europe's first heart transplant at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital on 27 April 1968. From 1994 to 1999, Cabrol represented France in the European Parliament and was affiliated with Rally for the Republic. He was named a commandeur of the légion d'honneur and awarded an ordre national du Mérite for his work.[1][2]Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page).
