Clark R. Wever
Clark Russell Wever (September 16, 1835 – February 20, 1874) was an American Union brevet brigadier general from Illinois during the period of the American Civil War.[1] Before the war, he traveled through Mexico and Texas.[2] At the beginning of the war, this banker was elected a captain of the 17th Iowa Volunteer Infantry.[3] In October 1862, he was promoted to lieutenant-colonel.[4] He served in the Chattanooga campaign and Sherman's March to the Sea.[5] He received his appointment as brevet brigadier general dated to February 9, 1865.[6]
