The Cloverleaf Local School District is a school district located in southern Medina County, Ohio. It includes:

History

Cloverleaf Local School District was formed in 1960 as a consolidation of the formerly independent local schools of Lodi, Leroy (now known as Westfield Center), Seville, Chatham, and Lafayette, as well as the vast rural areas between them (including the Chippewa Lake area). Cloverleaf Senior High School graduated its first class in 1961. At one time, the Cloverleaf Local School District comprised the largest geographical school district in the State of Ohio. In the 2005-2006 school year, the district switched from individual K-6 elementary schools in each town to the current "elementary center" configuration. At that time, Cloverleaf High School also transitioned from a semester schedule to a trimester schedule in an effort to reduce expenses.

Activities

Cloverleaf High School's marching band has qualified for state competition for 27 straight years since 1981 and recently marched in the parade at Walt Disney World in 2005 and 2007. Cloverleaf High School's Academic Challenge team has also been successful in recent years winning two Medina County League (MCL) championships, two MCL Tournaments, and has qualified for the Ohio Academic Challenge Regional State Playoffs in 2005 and 2007. Cloverleaf sports teams are members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and compete in the Suburban League, having moved from the Pioneer Conference beginning with the Fall 1997 athletic season. Cloverleaf High School's Boys' soccer team won a share of the Suburban League title during the Colts' inaugural season in the conference. During the 2006-2007 season Cloverleaf's JV women's volleyball team won the Suburban League title.

Colors and mascot

Cloverleaf's colors are green and white (sometimes with gold trim), and the school mascot is the Colts. The school's main athletic and activities logo is a green horseshoe similar to that used by the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. The Cloverleaf fight song is based on "Go U Northwestern" from Northwestern University.

Alma mater

ALMA MATER (sung to the tune of "Eternal Father, Strong to Save.)"

O hail, to this dear school of mine;
your memories linger in my heart,
of days gone by and friends far away.
I’ll stand by you forevermore.
Be strong, oh school, and do not fail
to build the youth of coming years.
I’ll cheer and sing for you to win...WADSWORTH!
