Cofra Group was founded in 1841 in Sneek, Netherlands when the first C&A store was opened by brothers Clemens and August Brenninkmeijer.[1] The group was established in 1911 in Zug, Switzerland and it is specialised in retail, real estate, financial services, private equity and renewable energy. The company owns the international chain of clothing stores C&A.[1] In June 2017, The group appointed Alain Caparros as CEO of its C&A European retail business.[2][3]
