Consett Academy is a secondary school, The result of a merger between Consett schools Consett Community Sports College and Moorside Community Technology College. From its establishment, the school has operated at the two former sites under the Consett Academy name, while the Academy building is scheduled to open in Easter 2014.this is also the best school in the north east with the best facilities anyone could imagine

Location

The academy is currently operating from two sites; North Campus and South Campus, located in Blackhill and Moorside respectively. As of September 2013, students are distributed as follows:

South Campus Years 7, 8 and 9

North Campus Years 10, 11 and Sixth Form

A new building is currently in development to be constructed at the Bel Vue site in Consett, County Durham, expected to open in Easter 2014; incorporating a secondary school and sixth form.

Admissions

The Academy is for ages 11 to 18 as of September 2012, when the new Sixth Form opened.

The school has the capacity for an inlet of up to 300 Year 7 pupils each year.
