Council Tower of Sibiu (Template:Lang-ro) is situated in the center of the city of Sibiu, Romania, connecting the two main squares. It was built in the 13th century. Throughout history, the tower has been rebuilt many times, always changing the initial architecture. The entrance in the tower is in the Small Square.
Over time, the tower has been given various uses. It was used as a gate tower, a grain deposit, a fireplace, a prison and even for a while as a museum of natural sciences. At the moment, the tower is used for various exhibitions and as a point of view; from the upper level of the tower visitors can see the whole city of Sibiu.
The Council Tower is a seven-story building, with stories that retreat in steps, on the sides of the Great Square and the Small Square.
