Craig Menear (born c. 1958) is an American business executive. He serves as the chairman and chief executive officer of The Home Depot.
Early life
Craig Menear was born circa 1958 in Flint, Michigan.[1][2] His father worked as a "tool and die maker" for General Motors.[3]
Menear was educated at the Flint Central High School, graduating in 1975.[2] He graduated from Michigan State University's Eli Broad College of Business in 1979.[1][2]
Career
Menear began his career at "a handful of retailers, including becoming a distribution manager for IKEA."[2]
Menear joined The Home Depot in 1997.[1] He became executive vice president of merchandising in 2007.[2] He has served as its chief executive officer since November 2014,[2] and as its chairman since February 2015.[4] He earned $11.5 million in 2016.[5]
Civic activities
Menear is a donor to his alma mater, MSU.[3]
